Echo Companion

Core Echo — Your Floating Companion

Every player on Starvel has a Core Echo — a floating allay companion that follows you everywhere. It's your personal assistant, your central menu, and your gateway to every major system in the game.

What Is Echo?

Echo is a small floating allay that spawns near you when you join the server. It hovers beside you, bobs gently in the air, and follows you as you move around the world. It's visible to all nearby players and cannot be attacked or killed.

Right-click your Echo to open the Hub Menu — a central dashboard that gives you quick access to the shop, dungeons, raids, quests, expeditions, the market, and more. Think of it as your portable menu that's always one click away.

How It Works

Your Echo spawns automatically when you join the server. It floats a couple of blocks off the ground and follows you with smooth movement. If you get too far ahead, it teleports to catch up.

During combat, your Echo floats higher to stay out of the way and avoid blocking your view.

Echo is hidden in certain areas like the market world, where it would be unnecessary.

The Hub Menu

Right-click your Echo to open the Hub Menu. This is the main way to access most systems on the server:

Shop — Opens the sell GUI where you can sell items to the server for gold. Same as typing /shop or /sell.

Hidden Market — Teleports you to the market world where you can access the Auction House and Shard Shop NPCs. Same as /ah or /shards.

Random Teleport — Sends you to a random location in the overworld resource world. Same as /rtp.

Dungeon — Opens the Dungeon Management GUI where you can expand your dungeon and collect shards. Same as /dg upgrade.

Raids — Opens the raid target selection menu where you pick who to raid. Same as /raid.

Quests — Shows your daily quest progress and the seasonal leaderboard.

Expeditions — Opens the expedition dashboard where you can send your golem on timed missions for loot.

Clan — Opens the clan GUI to manage your clan, view members, or visit clanmate dungeons.

Leaderboard — View seasonal rankings and see where you stand.

Cosmetics — Opens the cosmetics menu where you can equip allay skins for your Echo and gear cosmetics for your equipment.

You don't have to memorize commands — just right-click your Echo and everything is there.

Name Colors

Echo's floating name label changes color based on clan relationships:

Your own Echo and clanmates' Echoes appear in aqua (light blue)
Echoes belonging to players outside your clan appear in red

This makes it easy to spot friendly players at a glance in the resource world.

Echo Dialogues

Your Echo has personality. As you explore, it occasionally says things in chat — small comments about the world around you. The messages change depending on where you are:

In the overworld, Echo is brave and adventurous, making lighthearted quips about the scenery.

In the Nether, Echo is terrified, panicking about the lava and heat.

In the End, Echo gets eerie and unsettled, whispering about the void and the Endermen.

These are just flavor messages — they don't affect gameplay, but they add character to your companion.

Hiding and Showing Echo

If you want some alone time, you can hide your Echo:

/echo — Toggle visibility on or off
/echo show — Force your Echo to appear
/echo hide — Hide your Echo

Your Echo is still technically there when hidden — you just can't see it. You can still use all the menu commands directly (like /shop, /raid, /dg upgrade) even without Echo visible.

Custom Skins

You can change how your Echo looks using allay skins from the Cosmetics system. Open the cosmetics menu through your Echo's hub menu or type /cosmetics

.

Available skins include themed designs like Axolotl, Mushroom, Sculk, Slime, and Undead variants. Skins are unlocked and equipped through the cosmetics GUI. They're purely visual — they don't change how Echo works.

New Player Onboarding

When you first join the server, your Echo guides you through an 8-step tutorial. It introduces you to the world, explains your dungeon, teaches you about raids and rifts, and walks you through the upgrade system.

During these introduction moments, Echo talks to you through a dialogue system. Just follow along and it'll teach you the basics of everything you need to know. If you ever feel lost after the tutorial, right-click your Echo — everything you need is in the Hub Menu.

Tips

If your Echo disappears, type /echo show to bring it back.

If you're not sure how to access something, right-click your Echo first. The Hub Menu covers almost every system.

New players should follow the bossbar tutorial steps and talk to their Echo when prompted — it unlocks helpful dialogue that explains the core systems.

Echo works in the overworld, Nether, End, and your dungeon. It's hidden in the market world since you don't need it there.
